District Attorney Armando Villalobos of Cameron County, Texas, says he doesn’t want defense lawyers to be ahead of prosecutors during jury selection.

Toward that end, prosecutors in his county will use iPads to check out the Facebook profiles of potential jurors, the Brownsville Herald reports. “I would like my attorneys and staff to use every available tool in their arsenal,” he told the newspaper.

Villalobos acknowledged that some jurors may see the searches as an invasion of privacy, but he said prosecutors will discard the information after it is used in the selection process.
