Mark Anthony is among the lawyers who found an alternate career after law school.

Anthony, a Florida lawyer, graduated from Mercer University’s Walter F. George Law School and wrote a book called Never Letting Go. There’s a six-month wait for a telephone reading with Anthony, who charges $250 an hour, according to Huffington Post Weird News contributor Myra Chanin.

The cost was too pricey for Chanin, who spoke with “psychic lawyer” Anthony on the phone about his background. Anthony said his mother and aunt were both psychic; his mother complained about heat and “death everywhere” in a visit to the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas a month before a fatal fire in 1980. Eighty-five people were killed, according to news coverage.

Anthony told Chanin he usually starts his readings with a prayer, raising “the vibrational frequency that lets spirits know I’m trying to reach them and attracts them to me. I see the spirits in my mind’s eye and I feel them as physical sensations. Sometimes I hear things, significant bits of music.” His readings, he says, help people deal with grief.

A February 2011 story at ABAJournal.com says Anthony had landed $90,000-a-year job at the clerk’s office in Brevard County, Florida. The Huffington Post story has no mention of that job. Anthony’s website says he appears on radio and TV as a “psychic medium, legal analyst in high-profile murder cases and paranormal expert.”
