A partner of Faegre Baker Daniels who was shot Tuesday inside the attached garage of his home in Fort Wayne, Ind., is recovering and says the man who attacked him was a stranger.

David J. Kuker, 45, a corporate practitioner who heads the law firm’s Fort Wayne office, was shot at least once in the shoulder during the encounter at about 8:15 a.m. Except to say he didn’t know his assailant, he wasn’t able to give a description because he was sprayed in the eyes with some kind of chemical, the Journal Gazette reports .

“We’re investigating some leads, but one of the biggest pieces we have is that we believe this is an isolated incident,” said a city police department spokeswoman.
