Despite graduating in the top 10 percent of his class and working for top legal firms as a summer associate, a 30-year-old graduate of prestigious Osgoode Hall Law School has twice been rejected for bar membership over a 2008 battle with fellow members of his condo board.

But Ryan Manilla is trying a third time for admission to Law Society of Upper Canada, saying that he has reformed since the language he used in emails to fellow condo board members concerning a dispute over an assessment increase resulted in a criminal harassment case against him, the Star reports.

The criminal case was dropped when he agreed to sell his condo, apologized and made charitable donations.

A Law Times article provides further details and notes that Manilla was formerly the president of the condo board.
