An attorney representing the third wife of Dennis Rodman says in court documents filed in California that the former Chicago Bulls basketball star is $800,000 behind on support for the two children he had with her and owes his ex another $50,000 or so.

His lawyer, Linnea Willis, says in a filing in the Orange County, Calif., case that the 51-year-old Rodman is broke and can’t even afford legal fees. However, Jack Kayajanian, who represents Michelle Rodman, pooh-poohs Rodman’s insolvency claim, saying that he flies all over the world, according to the Chicago Tribune and ESPN.

Rodman escaped being sent to jail on Tuesday, for up to 20 days, but the respite could be a brief one, the Los Angeles Times (reg. req.) reports.

The Daily Pilot and TMZ also have stories.

Reportedly, Rodman, who was making over $550,000 annually at the time his wife filed for divorce, and claimed monthly expenses then of $30,000, compared to her $17,000, doesn’t now have a checking account or any assets, according to his attorney.
