A Rutgers women’s basketball player has filed suit against radio personality Don Imus, accusing him of libel, slander and defamation for comments he made on air about the team in April.

The comments cost Imus his job at CBS and resulted in a contract settlement that was reported this week.

This new legal twist for Imus comes from Kia Vaughn, a Rutgers star center. Her lawyer, Richard Ancowitz, told ABC News that the suit meant to “restore the good name and reputation” of Vaughn. “Don Imus referred to my client as an unchaste woman. That was and is a lie,” Ancowitz told ABC.
