San Francisco Associate Wins $1M Fantasy Sports Prize
A San Francisco associate who practices civil rights law has won $1 million in a fantasy sports competition.
Blake Thompson, 31, won the money in a contest sponsored by ESPN.com, according to the Legal Pad blog and ESPN. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of California Berkeley’s Boalt Hall law school and an associate at the 16-lawyer firm Rosen, Bien & Galvan. Thompson correctly picked the winning team or player nine times in a row during the finals of the competition.
Blake told ESPN he plans to use some of the money to take a vacation. But a name partner at his firm, Mike Bien, told Legal Pad he needs to be back at work—quickly. “He’s doing a very important brief for me that’s due in a couple of weeks,” Bien said.
