Sandusky's Wife Calls Accusers Conniving and Clingy, Denies Hearing Any Cry for Help
Jerry Sandusky’s wife, Dottie, supported her husband in testimony on Tuesday, saying she never heard any cries for help from the basement.
Dottie Sandusky winked at her husband of 46 years as she took the stand, ABC News reports. She said her hearing was fine, the basement wasn’t soundproofed, and she never heard any yelling. The New York Times and the Washington Post also have stories on the testimony.
Dottie Sandusky said most of the accusers were very nice, but one was “very demanding. And he was very conniving. He wanted his way. He didn’t listen a lot.” Another, she said, was “a charmer.”
She said she only saw inappropriate contact once—and that was a boy being overly affectionate with her husband, according to the Times. The child was “very clingy,” she said. She testified that many of the accusers continued to visit years after the alleged abuse.
A psychologist also testified Tuesday about his assessment that Jerry Sandusky suffered from histrionic personality disorder, which often causes sufferers to act flirtatious to get attention, the stories say. The diagnosis could explain Sandusky’s letters to the accusers, the psychologist said.
