Santa Fe vacations are an annual event for Justice Ginsburg

In late summer you are likely to find Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in Santa Fe, where she is a regular at the opera.
Ginsburg attended four of the five productions at the Santa Fe opera, part of a busy schedule in the city, the Santa Fe New Mexican reports. She also visited museums, officiated a same-sex wedding, spoke at a symposium on women, and bought a sculpture from artist Juan Hamilton. She vacations in Santa Fe with her children and grandchildren, and visits friends in the city.
Ginsburg told the Santa Fe New Mexican she fell in love with opera at age 11 when an aunt took her to see a shortened version of La Gioconda. “I was just blown away by the experience, the gorgeous music, the dramatic story,” she said.
Ginsburg also repeated her vow to remain on the court, despite calls for her retirement among liberals who want President Barack Obama to appoint her successor. “As long as I can do the job full steam, I will,” she told the newspaper.
