Schiff Hardin has announced the addition of 11 new lawyers in its New York offices, through its acquisition of Mazur Carp & Rubin. The firm, which is particularly known for its construction and trusts and estates practice groups, combined with Schiff on July 1.

“This combination is an exciting development for our firm,” said co-founder Sayward “Woody” Mazur of the Big Apple boutique in a law firm press release. “We know many Schiff Hardin lawyers well. They are committed to the same type of personal, long-term relationships with clients that have been a hallmark of Mazur Carp & Rubin and that our clients highly value. And with Schiff Hardin’s national platform, we have a new opportunity to provide our clients a broader array of services within our areas of focus, as needed.”

Schiff, which is based in Chicago, has about 400 attorneys in seven offices in Illinois, California, Georgia, Michigan, New York and Washington, D.C.
