Akerman Senterfitt is telling headhunters it will pay them contingency fees of 30 percent to send corporate lawyers to the Miami law firm.

Fees are typically no more than 25 percent of a lawyer’s starting salary, the Daily Business Review reports. The move comes after 10 lawyers left the firm’s Miami office amid rumors of missed budget projections and reduced partner pay.

Among the lawyers who left the firm were the chairs of its litigation and immigration groups. More lawyers may be ready to jump ship. An anonymous hiring partner at a large firm told the Business Review he is seeing more resumés from Akerman attorneys than ever before.
