Corrected: After a September impeachment trial and subsequent briefing, the Senate is expected to vote this week on the fate of a federal judge accused of concealing unsavory conduct when he was vetted for his current post.

G. Thomas Porteous Jr. has already been suspended with pay and removed from his judicial duties by the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. But the Senate vote will determine whether the Louisiana jurist gets a pension in 2011, reports the Caucus blog of the New York Times.

The Caucus post indicates the judge was suspended without pay, but earlier posts on ABAJournal.com and reports elsewhere, including a story Tuesday by the Times-Picayune, note that the judge has continued to collect his $170,000 annual salary since his suspension in 2008.
