Police in Fort Wayne, Ind., are investigating whether there is any connection between a shooting early Tuesday into the home of a Faegre Baker Daniels corporate associate and the unsolved shooting of a corporate partner of the law firm in his own Fort Wayne home in March.

Jeffrey A. Goeglein and his family were not hurt in Tuesday’s incident, but two bullets pierced a rear window, and he saw someone riding away in a bicycle on the sidewalk, the Journal Gazette reports.

However, Daniel J. Kuker was shot in the shoulder in the March incident, and he is recovering.

At the time, police said they thought the crime was an isolated occurrence. But “after two incidents, we are extremely concerned with these developments and the safety and security of our professionals and staff,” said managing partner Andrew Humphrey in a written statement provided to the Journal Gazette.

“We are implementing further security measures to provide added protection for our people,” said Humphrey. “We are committed to supporting the investigation, and strongly encourage anyone who may have information about either incident to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department.”

Police will increase patrols in the area of Goeglein’s home and plan to maintain a presence in the Faegre Daniels law office as a precautionary measure.

A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest in Kuker’s shooting.
