Grammy-award winning singer Lauryn Hill faces a federal tax case.

In a criminal information filed in U.S. District Court in Newark, N.J., she is accused of failing to file returns with the Internal Revenue Service for 2005, 2006 and 2007 while earning millions in income, reports Bloomberg.

The fact that the charges were filed by information suggests that a plea could be imminent. A court date is scheduled on June 29 for Hill, who lives in South Orange, N.J., not far from New York City.

“Ms. Hill has been fully cooperating with the IRS’s investigation for a number of years,” defense attorney Nathan Hochman told the news agency.
