A billionaire co-founder of Skype has sued his former fiancée, a Danish pop star, seeking the return of an engagement ring for which he paid nearly $472,000 and other gifts.

Janus Friis wants the ring, a Copenhagen apartment, cash and other items back, contending that the gifts were “conditioned upon their marriage,” Courthouse News reports.

The Los Angeles superior court complaint asserts an apparent contract cause of action, contending that his ex “disavowed and abandoned her engagement.”

The article doesn’t include any comment from the defendant, Aura Dione, who is also known as Maria Louise Joenson. It says her representative did not respond to a message.

Friis is a U.S. citizen but was born in Denmark.
