Talk of a possible posthumous pardon for former Doors front man Jim Morrison in a 40-year-old Florida indecent exposure case has put his sole surviving defense lawyer in the news.

From what Robert Josefsberg tells the Arts Beat blog of the New York Times, it appears that he believes his famous former client did in fact drop his pants at a 1969 rock concert in Miami.

However, the 72-year-old Podhurst Orseck partner also tells the newspaper that Morrison, contrary to the way he is portrayed in an Oliver Stone movie about the rock group, was not a “selfish druggie.”

Morrison was “a very nice person, a nice, decent human being with a very good sense of humor,” says Josefsberg, as well as very perceptive and smart. “And for the three weeks I was with him, he was sober.”
