Boston-based law firm Brown Rudnick has told 11 first-year associates that their start dates won’t be pushed back after all.
The law firm said it needed the associates to start work sooner because of an upswing in bankruptcy work and related litigation, according to the National Law Journal. The firm is also seeing additional work as companies protest government decisions on contract bids.
In all, 15 associates were asked to delay their start dates from September to the end of November. But now the law firm has asked 11 of the new hires to report for work on Sept. 14, the Boston Business Journal reports.
Another dozen first-years are still being asked to delay their start dates until 2010.

That still leaves them several weeks to shop for new suits, and write a letter to the President thanking him for fixing the economy.

McLeod, your humor is getting better and better.
I would note that Illinois law firms should be well positioned for this “economic fix” as well. They deal with tons of bankruptcies and “irregularities” with govn’t bidding processes (mysteriously, the contracts always seem to go to large campaign donors in IL, regardless of the bidding).
