Son of Former NYC Mayor Giuliani Loses Suit Over Duke U Golf Team Dismissal
A lawsuit filed by the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani over his elimination from the Duke University golf team has been dismissed by a federal judge in North Carolina.
Andrew Giuliani failed to establish that there was an enforceable contract between himself and Duke, held U.S. District Judge William Osteen Jr. in a 25-page opinion today, reports the Herald-Sun.
“We are gratified the court agreed that our coaches have the authority to dismiss a student-athlete from an intercollegiate sports team in circumstances such as those present in this case,” says a Duke spokesman.
Attorney Bob Ekstrand of Durham represented Giuliani in the case. He couldn’t be reached for comment by the newspaper.
