After supporters, including his famous actor father, pleaded for leniency, the son of Michael Douglas was sentenced today to a five-year prison term by a federal judge in Manhattan.

Cameron Douglas, 31, had faced a standard minimum term of 10 years for his admitted dealing in large amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine, but got what U.S. District Judge Richard Berman described as his “last chance to make it,” according to a brief breaking Associated Press news story.
