Residents of a Washington, D.C., condo building have nothing but praise for their newest high-profile neighbor: Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

In interviews with the Washington Post, the neighbors told of conversations and polite interactions with the justice. According to the story, Sotomayor has “achieved positive condo karma.”

Sotomayor paid $660,000 for her condo in a “hip, transforming neighborhood” in the U Street corridor, the Post says. Prices in the building range from $350,000 to more than $1 million.

One resident told of neighborly meals with the justice and an occasion in which she gave him a ride to Union Station in her chauffeured car. Another told of receiving a polite note from Sotomayor warning in advance of construction in her condo. Sotomayor also attended the condo holiday party, where she “engage[d] people about their backgrounds and how laws affect them,” one resident told the Post.

Workers at neighborhood restaurants also gave Sotomayor positive reviews.
