A speech by former Supreme Court Justice David Souter on constitutional law at Harvard University’s 359th commencement last week was an “extraordinary gift” to the graduates, writes a columnist for Politics Daily blog.

“Criticizing what he called the ‘fair reading model’ of constitutional interpretation, Justice Souter’s extraordinarily candid and accessible remarks will be part of law school discussions and debates for years to come,” predicts columnist Andrew Cohen, an attorney and award-winning legal journalist.

The Harvard Gazette provides the text of his speech, as prepared for delivery, and a Harvard Crimson article provides further details of the speech.
