The bomb and arson squad of the Palm Beach County sheriff’s department was called out Wednesday morning to a Florida attorney’s office, where it “rendered safe” two hand grenades brought there this morning.

John M. McDivitt had been cleaning out the home of a deceased client who was a veteran of World War II and brought two grenades he found there into his Lake Worth office. Someone at the law firm then called the sheriff’s office for advice on what to do with the explosive devices, the Palm Beach Post reports.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department issued a statement earlier today urging anyone “in possession of any type of military device” not to touch it and call authorities for help removing it safely.
