Aided by an office fortuitously located along the Pennsylvania Avenue parade route, Sutherland Asbill & Brennan held a blockbuster office party today in honor of now-President Barack Obama's inauguration.
"Richard Murphy, Sutherland’s Washington partner in charge, says this year’s celebration is the biggest the firm has ever thrown," reports the Blog of Legal Times. "Fifty-seven lawyers and staff members slept on air mattresses in the firm’s office last night to avoid getting caught up in the mass of people who descended upon the city."
Other law firms less centrally located made alternative arrangements.
"Holland & Knight, whose offices are a bit westward in Foggy Bottom, rented out a restaurant—Chef Geoff’s at 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW—to entertain clients," reports Roll Call.

That’s a nice way of saying they made their staff work all night.

Sensible decision, given the restrictions on travelling into the District on Inauguration Day.

Gives a whole new meaning to the term “job openings” (and a good time was had by all)
