An Illinois man upset over child support issues tried to ram his 18-wheeler into the Madison County Courthouse on Monday, but he didn’t get any farther than the courthouse stairs.

Roy Conger, 42, fled the scene after his semi got stuck, but he later turned himself in at the Madison County Jail, report the Belleville News-Democrat and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Collinsville man was charged with damaging government property.

Conger had sought a reduction in child support because he didn’t have a job. The judge had refused the request, ruling that Conger’s own actions caused his job loss, the stories say.
