Strauss-Kahn Reportedly Reaches Settlement with Maid Who Accused Him of Rape

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former chief of the International Monetary Fund, has reportedly reached an agreement to settle a civil suit filed by the hotel maid who accused him of rape.
The New York Times attributes its information about the purported deal to “people with knowledge of the matter.” Details of the agreement weren’t known, although the French media reported that Strauss-Kahn would pay $6 million to the maid, Nafissatou Diallo, the Times says.
An Associated Press report says Judge Douglas McKeon of New York facilitated the deal. The judge also reportedly facilitated a separate agreement to end a suit Diallo had filed against the New York Post for a series of articles that called her a prostitute. The AP account relies on a person familiar with the case.
