Suit Claims 'Hangover II' Is Based on Actor’s Script About Real-Life Incident
A pro se lawsuit filed by a Bollywood actor claims The Hangover Part II was based on his difficult honeymoon in Asia.
Michael Alan Rubin says the script was based on his honeymoon with a Japanese woman who refused to share a room with him after they argued about finances, according to the Hollywood Reporter’s THR. Esq. Rubin says he wrote the script and deposited a copy with the Writers Guild of America. Entertainment Weekly also has a report, but says Rubin claims his ex-wife gave the filmmakers his story.
The suit, filed last week in California federal court, claims copyright infringement and misappropriation of publicity rights. Rubin also claims he was defamed by the inference he was under the influence of drugs when he proposed to a transsexual prostitute, according to THR, Esq.
