A hedge fund manager who is seeking millions of dollars in damages from the Devonshires law firm in London claims a lawyer there advised her to cry in a meeting with her boss.
Celia Elizabeth Farnon says she sought help from the law firm after Polar Capital cut her bonus by about 95 percent, the London Daily Mail reports. Farnon claims in an ongoing hearing at the London High Court that the firm underestimated her legal claim and advised her to cry at the next meeting with her boss.
Devonshires denies its lawyer advised Farnon to cry. The firm also says Farnon had sought legal advice on how to leave her job for another one on short notice, rather than a possible sex discrimination suit.
