Reportedly under consideration for a top post at the U.S. Treasury Department, the chairman of Sullivan & Cromwell has apparently stepped away from the possible appointment.
H. Rodgin Cohen is no longer on the deputy treasury secretary short list, reports the DealBook blog of the New York Times, citing unnamed sources.
Considered a top Wall Street dealmaker, Cohen likely would have had difficulty both during the confirmation process and on the job because of his long-standing ties to his corporate client base, according to the blog.
The ABA Journal reported in January that Cohen and his partners advised or drafted deals for at least six financial players during “a blitzkrieg of economic implosions and financial fixes.”

Everyone that Obama appoint is most likely corrupt, a tax cheat, or a felon.

I have heard people say, “That job is so easy, even a chair could do it.” I guess this was not one of those.
