More than a week after her husband allegedly beat her with a cast-iron frying pan, a suspended Nevada judge reportedly remains hospitalized.

However, the swelling in her right eye is going down, so District Judge Elizabeth Halverson can open it a bit, and she is starting rehab, her friend Bobbi Tackett tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Halverson, 50, had surgery after the claimed attack, and her injuries reportedly included a skull fracture.

On a recently released 911 tape of the call Halverson made on Sept. 4 to the Las Vegas police, an officer is apparently stunned at what can be seen in her bedroom, the newspaper writes. “Jesus!” the officer shouts, entering the room as Halverson is still on the phone. “Expedite medical! Severe head injuries!”

Her husband, 49-year-old Edward Halverson, was at last report being held at the Clark County Detention Center in lieu of $113,000 bail. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, and domestic battery with use of a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm. Both are felonies.
