Tax Attorney Likely to Lose Law License After Guilty Plea in Strip Club Case
A 53-year-old tax attorney has pleaded guilty to a felony concerning the unlicensed New York City strip club he allegedly operated in Manhattan.
Although Louis Posner will serve no jail time, the Associated Press says he will be sentenced to 60 days of community service.
His guilty plea to promoting prostitution at the Hot Lap Dance Club on West 38th Street also is expected to result in automatic disbarment, reports the New York Law Journal in an article reprinted in New York Lawyer (reg. req.).
An indictment contends that the club, operated by Posner and his wife, often took in more than $20,000 nightly; as part of the plea deal, charges against his wife will be dismissed. The Posners have also forfeited over $500,000.
