A craze among teenagers for sending sexually explicit text messages, including photos, is creating serious legal consequences for some.

“Recently, teenagers have been arrested on child pornography charges, and there have been reports of high-schoolers losing jobs or college scholarships as a result of being identified in sexually suggestive pictures that have appeared on the Internet,” reports the London Times.

Simply receiving such explicit messages on one’s cell phone can be grounds for a child pornography charge, according to the newspaper article, which discusses several recent U.S. cases.
