A Massachusetts teen and his family are seeking $100,000 in damages for what they say is a teacher’s bad Halloween prank.

According to the teen’s lawyer, Thomas Dussault, a Taunton, Mass., high school teacher came to a classroom door before Halloween last year wearing a mask and carrying what appeared to be a chainsaw, the Taunton Daily Gazette reports.

“My client was terrified, ran from the scene, fell over a chair and struck his left knee on the floor," Dussault told the publication. "He had a fracture in his knee and had to undergo surgery." The boy, who was 15 at the time, used crutches for months and had to give up sports.

Dussault has sent the city of Taunton a letter of presentment indicating he will file suit if the matter isn’t resolved in six months.
