Three women.

Three large law firms promoted only women to partnership in 2016. Five law firms promoted only men.

Overall, 36.7 percent of the lawyers promoted to partner last year were women, according to partnership announcements at America’s top 100 law firms. Bloomberg Big Law Business did the analysis.

The three firms with partnership classes made up of only women are Cravath, Swaine & Moore; Schulte Roth; and Pepper Hamilton. The five firms that promoted only men are Sullivan & Cromwell, Paul Weiss, Shearman & Sterling, Cahill, and Hughes Hubbard.

The article points out that the number of partnership promotions at these firms was small. The three firms promoted eight women in all, and the five firms promoted 19 lawyers.
