Merger talks are reportedly taking place between Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman and Chadbourne & Parke.

A merger would create a law firm with more than 900 lawyers and more than $800 million in revenues, according to coverage by the Am Law Daily (sub. req.) and Bloomberg BNA’s Big Law Business, which was first with the news. Both articles rely on anonymous sources.

The talks are preliminary, according to Big Law Business. A review of Internet domain registrations by the Am Law Daily revealed the name www.pillsburychadbourne.com was registered on July 1 and updated on Wednesday.

In the last nine years, Pillsbury has discussed mergers with at least six law firms, including Chadbourne.
