This Supreme Court justice emphatically says they’re not retiring
A New Yorker article recently considered whether U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was contemplating retirement and whether President Donald Trump was hoping to appoint a younger nominee in his place.
Never mind. Thomas, 70, emphatically told an audience from the Pepperdine University School of Law that he has no plans to leave, the National Law Journal reports. Pepperdine posted a video of the March 30 event April 4.
Thomas squelched any speculation in an exchange with incoming Pepperdine University president James Gash.
Here is how the National Law Journal described the conversation, which began when Gash poised a hypothetical: Who would Thomas like to speak at his retirement party in 20 years?
