Print may have taken a hit after the Internet came along–and leather-bound law books may largely be a thing of the past–but one paper product has remained popular among lawyers: the business card. But in the sea of tasteful, traditional, beige business cards, how can you and your firm stand out?

When the ABA Journal launched its Pinterest account, one of the first things we created was a board with examples of creative business cards. And while we were able to find quite a few good examples, we were curious about what our readers could contribute. So we made it the focus of a Question of the Week: What’s the most creative lawyer business card you’ve ever seen?

Judging by the great examples we received, the practices with the most creative latitude are DUI law and divorce law. From a DUI attorney’s business card which doubles as a coaster to a divorce attorney’s card which perforates down the middle, lawyers from these branches had some great and memorable solutions.

Perhaps the raciest example hails from Romania, where legal advertising laws are quite strict. A newly licensed divorce attorney went to the advertising agency Propaganda Bucharest for a solution. “Since ‘advertising’ was illegal, we focused on his business card,” writes the ad agency. “We put the contact information of our client on condoms and distributed them at the front desk of an out-of-town motel. We thus got the information to people who were most likely having an affair and could have been in need of both condoms and our client’s services.”

If you have an example of your own to share, email it to us and it may get added to the gallery!
