Top 20 UK Law Firm to Outsource All Support Staff Work & Bring Local Integreon Office In-House
In what is being billed as a first-of-its-kind move by a top 20 London-based law firm, partners of CMS Cameron McKenna voted this week to eliminate its entire “back office” of some 200 support staff and put a legal process outsourcer in charge of performing this work.
While the staff are not expected to lose their jobs as a result of this change, they will soon be working for the local office of Integreon, a legal process outsourcer which will now move its London office into the law firm to provide support services, according to Legal Week.
Integreon is also attempting to set up similar law firm outsourcing projects in the United States, where it hired the former chief operating officer of Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe to act as an adviser in its efforts to arrange such deals, the article says.
Orrick, which is headquartered in California, has established a global operations center in Wheeling, W.Va., as a previous ABAJournal.com article about the firm’s 21st century redesign notes.
