A trial attorney and his wife have donated $10 million to the law school from which he, his father and two sons have graduated,

The gift is one of the largest ever received by the University of Montana School of Law reports the Great Falls Tribune.

Alexander “Zander” Blewett III earned his law degree there in 1971. His father graduated in 1938 and his two sons, Anders and Drew, got their diplomas in 2007. The two work now work with their dad at his Great Falls law firm.

“The law school is in need, and public education generally is in need of support,” Blewett told the newspaper Wednesday. “We really appreciate what the University of Montana School of Law has done for the Blewett family.”

The family also made headlines last year, when an $800,000 donation was announced, as the Missoulian reported at the time.

The $10 million is expected to be used for an endowed professorship, for scholarships and to support a consumer law program. Some of the money will be for the law school to use at its discretion.
