Trial Delayed for Idaho Prosecutor in Fun Run ‘Donation’ Case

A trial has been delayed until June for an eastern Idaho prosecutor accused of misusing public funds by taking money from defendants in exchange for dismissing their cases. A judge granted of a change-of-venue request.

The jury will now be selected from Pocatello residents in the case of a Caribou County prosecutor, Criss James, who is charged with 11 counts of misusing public funds, reports the Associated Press.

James allegedly put $3,800 he obtained into a personal bank account. However, "James contends the account was for a county fair fun run and that defendants were asked to make donations in lieu of paying fines," the AP recounts.
