Once the most prolific indigent defense lawyer in the Texas county in which she practiced, Hilda Valadez is now facing trial in a courthouse fraud case.

But the 52-year-old will get at least a three-week reprieve, as prosecutors respond to concerns from her counsel, based on a psychological report, that she is unfit to stand trial, reports the San Antonio Express-News. A visiting judge on Monday gave the state 21 days to seek their own mental evaluation.

Valadez is accused in a 46-count complaint of double-billing Bexar County and forging judges’ signatures on documents.
