Trump supporter Giuliani takes leave from his BigLaw firm until campaign ends

Donald Trump supporter Rudy Giuliani won’t be showing up at his BigLaw office for the next month.
Giuliani is taking a leave of absence until Nov. 9, the day after the election, Law.com (sub. req.) reports.
Greenberg Traurig chairman Richard Rosenbaum issued a statement calling Giuliani’s temporary departure “an amicable and mutual leave of absence.”
An unnamed source had told the Observer that Greenberg Traurig had strongly encouraged the leave of absence. But Giuliani “forcefully disputed that characterization” in a later interview, the publication reported.
“This is a voluntary action on my part that was contemplated for two weeks and was done with the full acceptance of the managing partner of the firm, Richard Rosenbaum, who happens to be a good friend of mine,” Giuliani told the Observer. “I’m coming back November 9 and if anybody had bothered to call anybody but some unnamed source, they’d have gotten the truth.”
Giuliani joined Greenberg in January, where he heads the firm’s cybersecurity and crisis management practice. Political contribution records suggest his support for Trump isn’t echoed by many at the firm.
According to Law.com (sub. req.), 186 Greenberg Traurig employees have donated to Hillary Clinton this election cycle, and five have donated to Donald Trump.
