Two small law firms with Philadelphia offices have established a presence in China, beating out many of their larger counterparts.
Last month, White & Williams formalized a strategic alliance with the Xue Law Firm in Shanghai, the Legal Intelligencer reports. Both firms say the alliance will help with representation of corporate clients.
Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff, an Ohio-based firm with offices in Philadelphia, has received a license to open a Shanghai office, according to the newspaper. Yanping Wang will be the chief lawyer in the office, assisting corporate clients entering the Chinese market through mergers and alliances.
