Two more Texas law firms have announced they will pay new associates $160,000.

The latest firms to jump on the pay bandwagon are Haynes and Boone, and Baker Botts, Texas Lawyer reports. The firms also announced pay hikes for more senior associates, with billable-hour requirements for bonuses.

Haynes and Boone has in the past required associate classes to meet billable-hour goals as a group for bonuses to be awarded. Partner Terry Conner told Texas Lawyer the firm will now take individual goals into account, too, although he didn’t offer specifics.

Baker Botts ties bonuses to a requirement of 2,000 qualified hours for all but first-year associates, who will not receive bonuses.
