The UCLA Health System has agreed to pay $856,500 to federal regulators as part of a settlement of a probe of snooping into celebrities’ medical records by hospital employees between 2005 and 2009.

Employees at all three of its hospitals allegedly accessed celebrities’ medical records, in violation of their privacy, without appropriate reason, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Among the dozens of celebrities targeted reportedly were Britney Spears, Farrah Fawcett and Maria Shriver, who was then the wife of the state governor.
