A United Kingdom regulator has banned as misleading magazine makeup ads featuring actress Julia Roberts and supermodel Christy Turlington, Sky News reports.

The digitally manipulated images of the two women, who are in their early 40s, wearing L’Oreal and Maybelline foundation products, give readers an unrealistic idea of what they can achieve by using the makeup, the Advertising Standards Authority says. “On the basis of the evidence we had received we could not conclude that the ad image accurately illustrated what effect the product could achieve and that the image had not been exaggerated by digital post-production techniques.”
