The bar group representing solicitors in England and Wales is launching a new campaign to warn would-be lawyers that they could end up jobless and in debt.
The Law Society plans to stress the competition for jobs and the high costs of legal training, according to Legal Week and the Lawyer.
Last year alone, more than 1,000 people who completed the Legal Practice Course did not get a training contract, according to the organization.
"The society is looking to inform and educate those considering a career as a solicitor to think long and hard about the commitment it requires to succeed—particularly in the face of increased competition," according to a statement by the Society published in Standpoint magazine.

Where is the same report from the ABA in the US? US students have far higher debt loads than UK law grads.

as usual, the europeans are the ones looking out for the masses, the working class, the young, etc.
Over here in america, those at the top of the legal industry are just trying to exploit the young, the naive, the working class.

English and Welsh are really more islanders than Europeans, jenn, but I’ll bet you could book these solicitors for guest appearances on this side of the pond, if you tried.
