Tom Hanks did it in Turner and Hooch. But, as with other movie stunts, walking a dog from the driver’s seat can be more dangerous than it seems when tried at home.

A 23-year-old man who did it on a rainy day, on a country lane in the United Kingdom, was not only fined $100 but lost his license for six months, because the points added for the new offense put him over the total that mandated this penalty, reports the Daily Mail.

“A lot of people exercise their dogs in that manner,” Paul Railton told the Consett Magistrates Court, but this argument apparently was not persuasive.
