Want to Run with the Bulls in Arizona? A Liability Waiver Is Required
A promoter staging a Running of the Bulls event in Arizona north of Phoenix isn’t taking any chances.
The bulls’ horns will be duller than the ones used in the famous Pamplona event, promoter Phil Immordino tells the New York Times. The U.S. bulls are less aggressive than their Spanish counterparts, he says. Paramedics and rodeo clowns will be standing by, and escape routes will allow runners to veer away when bulls get too close. Immordino has $1 million in insurance, as does the private land owner where the event will be held.
And then there is the liability waiver. “We have a seven-page waiver, and they need to initial every paragraph and every page,” Immordino told the Times. “It says you, your neighbor, your cousin and your cousin’s brother can’t sue anybody about any of this.”
