Was federal judge on 'hit list' reportedly found in courthouse shooter's belongings?
A public defender representing the son of a man who shot two women to death in a Delaware courthouse last year en route to a child-support hearing is asking the federal judge overseeing a cyberstalking and conspiracy case against David Matusiewicz to step down.
Exactly what is said in the recusal motion concerning U.S. District Judge Gregory M. Sleet isn’t known, because it was filed under seal, reports the News Journal.
However, an earlier motion filed by another attorney on behalf of David Matusiewicz’s sister and co-defendant contended that the case should be moved from Delaware due to a “hit list” published reports said had been found in a search of belongings of his father, Thomas Matusiewicz. In addition to lawyers, judges and witnesses involved in prior cases concerning David Matusiewicz and his mother, it also allegedly named Sleet, according to the newspaper. The shooter, Thomas Matusiewicz, committed suicide at the shooting scene.
