Last week, felony charges were brought against Susan Cole, who called into a radio show to say she feigned mental instability to get out of jury duty. The Denver judge who excused her heard the broadcast, and now she faces charges of first degree perjury and attempting to influence a public servant.
This week, we’d like to ask you: What’s the wildest excuse you’ve heard from a potential juror in voir dire? And if you know, tell us whether the juror’s ploy was successful.
Answer in the comments.
Read the answers to last week’s question: How do you think SCOTUS should rule in the Health Care Act cases?
Posted by AndytheLawyer: “Justice Roberts hit the nail on the head—Since the Government can force people to pay into Social Security, there’s no reason it can’t require people to obtain health insurance.”
